Science and Technology Fair

Three decades of discovery

The Science and Technology Fair has been an annual event in the Nelson Tasman region for nearly 30 years. Cawthron Institute/Foundation has been supporting the fair for over a decade and became the primary sponsor and organiser of the event after the 2011 fair.

Judging of the projects is completed by the end of the first day and the remaining time that the projects are on display is the perfect opportunity for friends, family and anyone to come along and have a look at the fantastic talent we have in our region.

Fame and fortune

The prizes of the fair have become famous for their enormity. Each student is judged by an independent panel and has the opportunity to win gold, silver, bronze and highly recommended science or technology awards, each with their own value. Winning projects may then receive the overall science award or the overall technology award. All students also have the opportunity to win a 'Special Category' awards from our fantastic sponsors.
